I have done thousands of flooring inspections, including:
There are no extra charges for doing inspections from Olympia to Seattle to Bellingham .
I choose to live on the Olympic Peninsula and for that reason I never charge for mileage or time driven to the aforementioned areas to do an inspection. I am in those areas 1-2 times a week any way.
The only fee exception for travel in those areas from Port Angeles is legal cases.
Concrete Moisture Testing
Moisture in concrete and stone structures has been the bane of our industry and an ever-present occurrence for centuries. It has cost societies millions. Controlling the moisture menace remains an ongoing, challenging affair. As a result, the science of concrete and the floor covering installation processes are always changing. That is why it is absolutely critical to stay informed about the current installation instructions for all floor covering products.
On the other hand, a consensus exists as the result of hundreds of hours of research that presents a scenario for installing porous and non-porous floor coverings successfully over concrete. To ensure proper performance of these floor coverings certain parameters must be met: Temperature, relative humidity, consistency in the installation, correct materials and equipment, etc.; but foremost is controlling moisture migration.
The way retailers, installers and contractors can control any potential moisture problem is to first test for it. Not doing moisture testing in this fast-track-world of construction is an invitation to a huge financial disaster. There have been many installations that have “gone south” because moisture tests were not done, using the wrong tests for making installation decisions and installing the correct moisture tests improperly.
